Christie Walheim - The most significant portrait I've ever created...

I started this portrait about a week or two ago, working off and on; finally finished on 12/21/2009.
This is a very significant portrait; not just because of who it is, but that I created it completely from memory!
Yeah, that’s right, I closed my eyes and used the picture I have of her in my mind as a reference while I sketched.
No photo exists nor did she sit for this portrait.
Surprisingly, it was not as hard as I thought, but then again, if you know this person, you’d know that she is not that easy to forget, both because of her personality and of course her looks.
Actually the hardest part of this portrait was creating her hair in relation to her face and the look of her hair from memory as it looks in person.
And now that I’ve been able to create a sketch from memory alone; I think I’ll do one in color.
